Bridging Home Video & Audio Systems
The HAX04 HDR HDMI Audio Extractor lets you take the audio portion of your content’s HDMI video
and audio input signal and send it to external speakers. Sometimes this is the only way to have audio,
for example, a home theater system using a projector and 5.1 surround sound. The projector does not
play audio, only video, so you need to take the content’s audio and send it separately to the surround
sound system. Or maybe you want to enjoy a superior audio experience than your TV speakers provide
when watching Blu-ray DVDs. Connect your Blu-ray player to the HAX04, and it will send the video to
the TV and the sound to the soundbar or external speakers (2ch or 5.1 surround sound). Either way, the
HAX04 helps you bridge the gap between your HDMI input and your audio system.
Lossy & Lossless Audio Format Support
Sound is an integral part of the cinematic experience. The HAX04 supports the following audio formats:
DTS HD Master Audio, DTS HD, DTS, Dolby Digital (AC3), Dolby TrueHD, and DSD. To help make sure
the device providing the audio and the home theater equipment broadcasting the audio are aligned, you
need EDID management. The HAX04 incorporates EDID management and your audio system’s
configuration (soundbar, 2ch, 5.1ch) determines the EDID setting you select.
HDR10 UHD 4K Input Source Compatible
Whether you are receiving your content signal from a cable box, streaming device, game console
(including the latest PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X and S), or Blu-ray player, the HAX04 connects
using HDMI 2. It supports HDR10 and UHD 4K/60HzIt utilizes the latest HDCP 2.2 copy protection, so
connecting to Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire, or other streaming devices is a snap. And, the HAX04
supports HDR10, UHD4k 60Hz passthrough. If the device receiving the video signal can also handle 4k,
you will enjoy more detailed natural-looking imagery.
Features Abound
Simplify your sound system set up by using HDMI ARC. With ARC, you can use 1 HDMI cable to send
audio and video. That lets you can reduce the number of audio cables needed. Using HDMI ARC, you
can also transmit the audio wirelessly to headphones by using a Bluetooth transmitter. Another
convenient feature is CEC support. If your TV or sound system supports CEC (Consumers Electronic
Control), you can reduce the number of remotes needed to operate your home theater.
